At the top of this map you can see Gleann Fearnach, deep in the Scottish Highlands, the home of the Glenfernate Estate, Glenfernate Farm and the animals we bring to you.
We are in the Grampians - the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Our land includes Beinn a'Ghlo, a Scottish "Monro" of 3,671 feet.
Glenfernate's "low" ground consists of rough permanent pasture, rising to heather moorland drained by the Fernate burn, a tributary of Scotland's largest river, the Tay.
Herds of wild deer are common, together with grouse, ptarmigan and other game.
This habitat produces the famous flavour of Scottish beef and lamb, from breeds adapted to the climate and natural vegetation. Glenfernate has been farmed for generations:
all our cattle and sheep are born and raised to maturity on the farm.
